Absolutely fantastic customer service experience! I was traveling from the USA and ordered a bike rental for the week in Glasgow. Pick-up and drop-off were seamless, and Joe (the owner) was awesome in helping me find the right bike with all the extra necessary gear to go with it. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Glasgow, Scotland!

We had a fantastic experience with gear bikes! We hired two bikes for a week long trip along the west coast. The bikes were great and equipped with everything we needed. The team at gear bikes were always available to answer any questions before and during the trip, and the process of picking them up and dropping them off couldn’t have been smoother. Highly recommend!!

Me and my son rented a couple of bikes from Gear bikes to do the National cycle route up to Inverness and down the Great Glen, some 300miles. The bikes were ready for us, first thing in the morning and were in perfect condition. The bikes were extremely good value, and were robust enough to tackle certain N7 roads which were not tarred. Joe the owner was super friendly and made sure we had any extra equipement and tools necessary. His can do and solicitous attitude gave my cycling hoilday the perfect start. A credit to Glasgow!

We had a great experience renting bikes here for a one week bike packing trip through the Highlands. Bikes worked perfectly and Ian and Joe are just really nice. Highly recommended!

Rented two hybrid touring bikes with racks, side bags, helmets and lock. I got a medium size (I am 5’6”) my fiancée got 2XL (He is 6’3”). We rented them for a week. They were just right, new and well equipped for emergency repairs. Friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located near Kelvingrove Park. We biked all over Glasgow and beyond using the Komoot app. So fun! Highly recommend Gear Bikes! And Komoot app. Happy biking!

The best bikeshop to rent a bike in Glasgow. I am from Brazil, and planned a bike trip to Inverness. I did everything in advance contacting Joe by internet. The prices are low, mostly, the bikes are the very good with great maintenance. We also rented the panniers. highly recommend!!!!

Just rented a touring bike and pannier bags for a 12-day bikepacking holiday. The rental was extremely affordable and came with everything you might need, including a helmet, lock, tire patch kit - they even have camping stove gas in the shop if you need it. The bike was brand new and honestly the nicest piece I’ve ever ridden - light as air. It was a joy to rent from these champs, who were kind enough to let me pack and unpack all my gear in the shop. Would recommend this place to any foreigner who is trying to go touring in Scotland!

We had fantastic and friendly service from Gear Bikes. Four family members - two from USA, two from England - rented bikes (and one set of panniers) for a week to cycle the *John Muir Way*.

When we came in, Sandy could not have been more thorough. He took a good hour to make sure all bikes and helmets were the right fit. He was so friendly and passed on lots of JMW tips.

Joe was also friendly, helpful and responsive, right from the get-go when we first made an inquiry. He was responsive out-of-hours when we wanted to extend the rental by a day.

Really friendly shop, and great prices! For our next Scotland bike trip, we’ll be back. Big thanks to the team.

 

 

 

 

Rental Policy

• Once payment is received this will move your booking to active.
• Payment must be made in full at time of booking
• Should you wish to cancel your booking you must contact us at least 21 days in advance of booking date. We will then be happy to refund the cost.
• Please note cancellations will incur a 10% handling charge.
• No refunds are given if you return early with your pre-paid booked bike.
• A current passport and or driving license will be used as identification at the time of visit to our shop to collect your bike or bikes, a copy of the  ID produced will be left with us during the rental period.
• Helmets and locks are provided with each bike.
• we also provide emergency spares like puncture kit / tyre levers / pump / alan key set / spare tube / FREE !! 

• Pannier bags are made by ortlieb and have a 20 litre capacity in each bag . You are hiring a pair ( so 40 litre in total ) 

   

  Please note we do NOT hire 

  e-bikes / triathlon bikes / racing bikes / children’s bikes / child seats / trailers or mountain bikes 

  Please choose correct size & dates required we will then reply with confirmation if available . If not we will send note to your mobile number or email provided .  Please note pannier bags MUST be booked at same time , you can add these to your bike booking . 

  You will receive a booking invoice at your email address , Once paid , bikes are secure . Please note that our system will not reserve bikes until the reservation invoice is paid . 

  ID required on arrival - passport or driving licence . 

   

  Please note We are unable to deliver or collect rental bikes . Free storage facility at shop for your luggage .
